JBR Environmental Consultants, Inc. (JBR) is working with the Dixie National Forest as a third-party contractor to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a proposed 138 kV transmission line that would provide needed additional power capacity to Hatch, Utah. The project also involves several cooperating agencies, including the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the BLM Kanab Field Office. One of JBR’s key tasks is to coordinate the project across all the agencies. JBR’s other tasks include scoping, alternative development, development of Specialist Reports, and writing the EIS. Critical issues for this project concerned sensitive, scenic, and recreational resources in the area.
