CITY OF RENO LAWTON-VERDI SEPTIC TO SEWER INTERCEPTOR PROJECT

The City of Reno is constructing the Lawton-Verdi Septic to Sewer Interceptor Project, a new sewer pipeline connecting the City of Reno to the Verdi area, extending to the Nevada/California State Line. The project involves the removal of individual residential septic systems and the connection to a sewer pipeline. The majority of the sewer pipeline's construction runs along the Truckee River and parallel to U.S. Interstate 80, ultimately connecting to the Reno Sparks Wastewater Treatment Facility.

JBR Environmental Consultants, Inc. (JBR) performed a waters of the United States/wetland delineation and a threatened and endangered species survey. JBR worked with the project’s engineer to realign the project to reduce and avoid, where possible, impacts to sensitive resources. JBR prepared an environmental report for submittal to the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) per the State Revolving Loan Fund guidelines. JBR also prepared environmental permit applications to allow two river crossings of the Truckee River, and all required federal, state, and local permit applications. JBR performed environmental monitoring of the project during construction, specifically to monitor water quality, erosion and sediment control measures for compliance with provisions of the storm water permit.
