JBR's conducted a watershed assessment for the Seven Basins Watershed in southern Oregon. The watershed encompassed approximately 250,000 acres and had 13 subbasins. The purpose of the watershed assessment was threefold. First, it provided a compilation of basic information regarding the environmental characteristics of the Seven Basins Watershed. Secondly, it identified data gaps and makes recommendations for the development of action plans that will address the data gaps. The third purpose of the assessment was to provide an introduction to some of the basic physical, chemical, and biological processes that control watershed functions. The assessment covered the following topics: environmental history, water quality, water quantity, sedimentation, channel characteristics, riparian conditions, wildfire, channel modification, and fish habitat. JBR scientists were responsible for preparing the document that was reviewed by representatives from the Seven Basins Watershed Council, Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, BLM, ODFW, ODA, ODF, and DEQ.
