JBR Environmental Consultants, Inc. (JBR) prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Beehive Telephone Company’s proposed installation of an underground fiber optic line. The line passed through four counties in both Utah (Tooele, Juab and Millard Counties) and Nevada (Elko County), with a total length of approximately 181 miles.
JBR worked with multiple Bureau of Land Management agency offices in Salt Lake City and Fillmore, Utah; and Elko, Nevada. JBR also coordinated with impacted private landowners, the U.S. Air Force, and the Goshute Indian Tribe in Tooele County.
For the project, JBR managed permitting efforts that included Right-of-Way permits through multiple counties and through Hill Air Force Base; Digging and Construction permits in multiple counties; and a Grant Easement permit through the Utah School Trust Lands. JBR also prepared an EA for the project, analyzing environmental impacts on water resources, wildlife and vegetation, cultural resources, and more. Baseline surveys were conducted for the preparation of the EA.
