BROWNFIELDS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, CITY OF OAKRIDGE, OREGON

JBR was contracted by the City of Oakridge to provide environmental services for completing the closure of outstanding environmental issues at the Oakridge Industrial Park, a Brownfields site that operated as former sawmill. The City of Oakridge is working with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to remediate and develop the site on a lot by lot basis. Cleanup activities have resulted in No Further Action letters for 23 of the 31 lots. JBR's scope of work included completing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for three lots, completion of a preliminary Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments (HHRA) for the facility, completion of a subsurface investigation using ground penetrating radar (GPR), and wetland classification for site cooling water and log ponds. In June 2007 JBR was selected to complete additional wetland assessment, further ecological assessment to complete the HHRA, and, if necessary, permit closure of the former cooling ponds.
