NORTHSTAR WATER QUALITY MONITORING

JBR Environmental Consultants, Inc. (JBR) designed and is implementing the water quality monitoring program for long-term development of the Northstar ski area within the Martis Creek Basin, tributary to the Truckee River in Truckee, California. JBR developed a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) that defined the monitoring methods, procedures, and protocols for all sampling and equipment. JBR designed and deployed near-continuous in-situ water monitoring equipment at several sampling sites.  JBR performs surface water, macroinvertebrate, and sediment toxicity sampling; automated equipment maintenance and calibration; large database management; and reporting in compliance with Water Board permitting.  Additionally, JBR is researching historic water quality data in the basin to compile into one database and is preparing a Historic Water Quality Assessment of the basin for use by the Water Board.
