The Truckee Meadows Water Authority, located in Reno, proposes to improve the Glendale Water Treatment Plant diversion and conveyance structure in the Truckee River. TMWA withdraws water from the Truckee River for the Glendale Water Treatment Plant to serve commercial and domestic water users in the Reno area. The existing diversion structure is inefficient and unreliable.
JBR Environmental Consultants, Inc. (JBR) participated in stakeholder group meetings and provided professional guidance regarding threatened and endangered species, environmental regulations, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit requirements. JBR performed a biological field survey to identify the presence and/or absence of threatened and endangered species. JBR also performed a formal waters of the United States delineation at the project site, along the banks of the Truckee River. JBR prepared all state and federal permit applications required for construction of a new diversion structure in the Truckee River and prepared a Biological Assessment.
