Mr. Koza brings to JBR’s clients 30 years of Bureau of Land Management experience in roles from field geologist to executive manager and at every agency level. He thoroughly understands the land use planning and NEPA processes. He has extensive experience implementing and managing the energy, minerals and renewable resources programs.
Mr. Koza has worked in federal land management agencies in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California. Most recently Mr. Koza served as Associate State Director for the Bureau of Land Management in Colorado from 2001 to 2007.
Mr. Koza has extensive experience in land use planning, and all levels of NEPA analysis for energy and mining projects. His experience also includes other land use authorizations, such as energy rights-of-way.
He has worked closely with the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, Department of Defense, and other federal and state agencies in managing federal land resources.
Mr. Koza has broad experience working with partners and stakeholders to mitigate environmental impacts and resolve resource management conflicts throughout the West. He has professional credibility with public land users and federal and state agencies. His resource management knowledge will help clients manage their land use planning, NEPA compliance needs, and other projects.
