JBR is currently seeking  seasonal hourly field archaeologists for projects in Utah.  The candidate will typically work 40 hours per week depending on workload. Overtime may be possible. These positions are non-benefited non-exempt positions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field
  • Completion of an archaeological field school (or equivalent experience)
  • Two years archaeology field experience with a range of field methodologies, including survey, testing, and excavation

Successful candidates must be able to:

  • Conduct pedestrian surveys over long distances
  • Recognize and document historic and prehistoric archaeological materials in a field setting
  • Map sites using traditional compass/pacing mapping and the collection of GPS data using Trimble units organize field notes and forms
  • Work under physically demanding situations in all weather conditions

Pay will be commensurate with education level and qualified work experience.  Compensation includes $40 per diem.  Single room lodging will be provided.  Travel to and from Vernal, UT will not be compensated.  However, travel time in company vehicles will be paid from the hotel to the survey area.
